In today’s Fuengirola Business Spotlight, we’re getting to know Madeleine O’Garra, Owner of property management and holiday rentals company Iberian Hideaways.
Property Manager Madeleine is originally from London in the UK, but moved to Spain as a child with her family and lived here for 9 years. In 1994 she moved back to the UK to study for a HND and a BA Hons in Hospitality Management and later worked in Conference Sales. She returned to Fuengirola in 2001 to be close to family and because she missed the great weather, international population and friendly atmosphere.
Madeleine set up Iberian Hideaways in 2003 to offer quality holiday rentals and property management services, specialising in the area between Fuengirola and Benalmadena. She had family working in the property industry in the area and identified the issues that international property owners were having in managing and renting out their properties. Due to her experience in the hotel and hospitality sector she was well placed to offer great customer service to both owners and holiday makers and committed to offering honesty and transparency. Identifying the issues, and providing the solutions into the property management and rentals sector led her to found Iberian Hideaways.
She explains, “Iberian Hideaways aims to give the best, friendly service to encourage loyal customers to come back time and time again. We have extensive knowledge of Fuengirola and the surrounding areas so we can provide the very best property management service. The Iberian Hideaways philosophy is; we don’t take on more than we can manage! That means we don’t over-stretch our resources that way we can provide an honest, reliable and personal service for our clients. Property owners can be 100% sure I will take care and be completely honest regarding occupancy and offer them the personal touch, as well as a complete property management service.”
Madeleine has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by offering special key holding and property check service for those owners who are not able to visit their holiday home and are concerned about their property sitting empty. They are also ensuring that the properties they are renting out are properly cleaned and disinfected, to give holiday guests total peace of mind, by putting their cleaning staff through an infection control course.
They have apartments and villas available to rent in Benalmadena, Los Boliches, Mijas, Torreblanca and of course Fuengirola and work hard to ensure that holidaymakers have a wonderful stay. If you’re not sure where to go, check out their destination guides for insider’s information on Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Los Boliches. All fantastic places to live, work, or holiday on the Costa del Sol.
Madeleine loves Fuengirola as she says, “It’s rare to find a destination that offers something for almost everybody. But the small, cosmopolitan Mediterranean city of Fuengirola achieves just that. With five miles of sunny beaches, all-year-round mild weather and plenty of things to do for singles, families and couples, Fuengirola is Spain’s sure bet for a successful beach side holiday.” We agree!
When asked for her advice for anyone looking to live, work, or set up a business in Fuengirola she says, “Choose your location carefully, both in terms of where you live and where you’re going to start a business, as it makes a huge difference to your quality of life and the potential for business success. Make sure you get legal advice and consult experts before taking important decisions. Do not listen to know-it all types sat at a bar who actually don’t know legalities! Due diligence, research and the right advice is critical to success.”
Thanks Madeleine, that’s great advice.
